  • Ingredients Wheat flour, sugar, spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, allspice, ginger, coriander, mace, cardamom), dextrose, raising agent (E500), salt, burnt sugar.
  • Preparation Necessary ingredients: for gevulde speculaas 1 package Koopmans Speculaas, 150 g of butter or margarine, 1 package almond paste (e.g. Dr. Oetker), 1 egg (medium sized), 4 tablespoons of water, 55 g of garnish almonds (e.g. Dr. Oetker) (all at room temperature). Oven temperature: electric oven: 170 °C; hot air oven: 150 °C; gas oven: setting 3. Kitchenware: square baking mould of about 18 x 18 cm or springform pan of 24 cm, mixer with dough hooks. Preparation time: preparation: 20 minutes; baking time: 40 minutes. Preparation: 1. Place the rack just below the middle of the oven and preheat the oven. 2. Stir the butter in a mixing bowl until soft, add the speculaas mixture and 2 tablespoons water. 3. Knead with a mixer with dough hook or by hand until a cohesive dough and leave it in the refrigerator for some time. 4. Mix the almond paste with half the egg and 2 tablespoons water. 5. Grease the baking pan or use a baking spray (e.g. Dr. Oetker). 6. Knead the dough again and divide it into 3 parts. 7. Coat the bottom of the baking mould with 2 parts of the dough and press the edges to a height of about 2 cm. 8. Spread the almond paste with the back of a wet spoon over the dough. 9. Roll the remaining dough into a slice of the size of the baking mould and place it onto the almond paste. 10. Brush the dough with a beaten egg, decorate with almonds and brush again with the beaten egg. 11. Bake just below the middle of the oven for about 40 minutes until ready.
